Nicola is originally from Scotland and was trained in Fine Art Printmaking at Grays School of Art where she gained her honours degree before moving to Australia in 2005.
She has been building an arts career exhibiting regularly at art awards and working with government bodies, schools and small businesses to deliver murals and public art. She has won multiple awards for her printmaking and painting.
She is the co-owner of The Artists Nook which has transitioned from a gallery space in Guildford to a public art provision business.
Working from her home in the Avon Valley she is surrounded by the natural environment which informs her practice. Her artwork is filled with native flora and fauna with art deco and figurative influences. She works mainly in relief printmaking and watercolours, often combining the mediums. Her current practice concentrates on still life and imagined landscapes filled with recognisable flowers and birds.
My painting ‘A Spoonful of Sugar” was selected for Scotty’s kitchen on The Block 20022 through a collaboration with Art Lovers Australia. Limited edition prints are available here.
