Description

Bloom is a large still life with a quirky spotted jug holding a beautiful banksia sourrounded by leaves, bottlebrush and flowering gums. It is painted in an expressive way with texture and direct brushmarks. As with all my still life works I like to play around with objects from life and from my imagination, this jug is the latter. A bit wonky and filled with a deep pinky-red contrasting with the greens and blues elsewhere while accentuating the pinks and reds in the flowers.

Painted on a heavy canvas with archival quality artists acrylics and finished with a satin vanish which deepens the colours and gives a subtle sheen.

Painted with artists quality acrylics and finished with a satin varnish, the edges are painted a deep mineral blue and can be hung as-is or have an external frame added.
