Description

Garden Reds is a still life with gum, bottlebrush anf grevillea flowers filling the space around a deep inky blue vase.

Beautiful shades of reds and oinks fill the flowers and contrast with the green leaves and blue background.

Watercolour washes are built up in layers with varying tones and texture before being overlaid with ink lines and secondary shapes which bridege and descet the elements.

The wren is filled with different colours and tones of blue and is depicted oversized to emphasize its unique markings. The background is made up of washes of green making the red flowers even more prominent.

Painted on 300gsm cotton rag watercolour paper with archival quality ink and watercolour.
