In the Gum Leaves is a watercolour and ink painting of an inquisitive Western Spinebill perched on a branch surrounded by oversized Silver Princess flowers and eucalyptus leaves.

Painted on textured Arches watercolour paper the layers of colours are built up and range from flat to textured paint. The image is overlaid with organic ink linework which accentuates the light-filled areas and gives the effect of stained glass.

Painted on 300gsm cotton rag watercolour paper with archival quality ink and watercolours.
